***Advice: Schedule your rehearsal at least 48 hours in advance of your ceremony and ensure you book your rehearsal with your venue and with me well ahead of time.***
Is a rehearsal necessary?
I can manage the unexpected at your ceremony, but having a rehearsal can significantly reduce the chances of unplanned issues. If you’re organizing a large wedding party, incorporating music, or if your venue has specific complexities, then we definitely recommend a rehearsal.
Your Officiant Mike can lead the rehearsal, provide a sound system, and play the processionals for both you and your wedding party to practice. This serves as an excellent opportunity for me, your Officiant, to meet your wedding party, family, and friends.
Not every venue or location is identical. This is one of the key reasons you carefully selected the perfect spot for your ceremony. Without a rehearsal, we cannot adequately prepare for the management of doors, music cues, aisle width, processionals, placement of the signing table, recessionals, and who’s responsible for the rings and the license. It also offers a perfect chance for your flower girl and ring bearer/security to practice.
A rehearsal helps to ease everyone’s mind, ensures everyone is on the same page, and minimizes stress and nervousness.
Additionally, if you’re planning to have a DJ or musicians at your reception, they do not need to attend the rehearsal or the ceremony. This allows them to focus on setting up in one location rather than two, ensuring everything is ready for your reception. If you are hiring musicians, please let me know so we can arrange the songs for your rehearsal, as hiring musicians and/or a DJ for your rehearsal can be costly.
It’s advisable to have your rehearsal at least 48 hours before your ceremony and to confirm your date with your venue as soon as possible. I strongly recommend booking your rehearsal right after you secure your venue.
Investing in your rehearsal is highly suggested. You will feel more at ease knowing you prepared!
